Upgrading to Red Suite 4 from Red Suite 3

Red Suite 4 is a significant upgrade over previous releases, as described in the FAQ New Functionality in Code Red IDE Version 4.

The installers for Red Suite 4 / Red Suite 4 NXP Edition can be found here. However Red Suite 4 / Red Suite 4 NXP Edition require a different activation code to the earlier Red Suite 3 / Red Suite 3 NXP Edition.

Existing Red Suite 3 / Red Suite 3 NXP Edition users can request a replacement Red Suite 4 / Red Suite 4 NXP Edition activation code by completing the Red Suite 4 Upgrade Form.

You are entitled to a replacement Red Suite 4 / Red Suite 4 NXP Edition activation code if you have valid support entitlement with us for your current Red Suite 3 / Red Suite 3 NXP Edition seat. If your support entitlement has expired, then you will need to renew your support before receiving your replacement activation code. If you are in doubt over your support entitlement, then please complete the Red Suite 4 Upgrade Form and we can confirm your status for you.

Note that although it is possible to have Red Suite 4 / Red Suite 4 NXP Edition and Red Suite 3 / Red Suite 3 NXP Edition installed and activated at the same time, receiving a replacement activation code for Red Suite 4 / Red Suite 4 NXP Edition will cause your existing Red Suite 3 / Red Suite 3 NXP Edition code to be deactivated after a short conversion period (approximately 1 week). This will then mean that you will then be no longer able to run your Red Suite 3 / Red Suite 3 NXP Edition seat.

If you wish to run both Red Suite 4 / Red Suite 4 NXP Edition and Red Suite 3 / Red Suite 3 NXP Edition long term, then you should purchase a new Red Suite 4 / Red Suite 4 NXP Edition seat rather than requesting a replacement activation code.

Evaluation before upgrading

You may also wish to request an evaluation activation code for Red Suite 4, before actually requesting a replacement Red Suite 4 activation code. To do this, install Red Suite 4 and use the Help -> Product Activation -> Request Evaluation License... menu. Note that the evaluation option is only available for the full Red Suite 4 product, not in the NXP Edition.
