Updating to a new version of Red Suite / LPCXpresso

Red Suite / LPCXpresso do not currently use the Eclipse software update mechanism.

Instead to update to a new version of the IDE (e.g. from version 4.15 to 4.20), you need to download and run the installer for that version.

You can choose to install over the top of an existing installation, or to install into a new directory. If install into a new (different) directory the new version into, then you can run the old version and the new version completely independently (and even have both running at the same time).

Upgrading from Red Suite 3 to Red Suite 4

The above describes updating from 3.x to 3.y, or 4.x to 4.y. If you want to upgrade from Red Suite 3 to Red Suite 4, then please see the FAQ Upgrading to Red Suite 4 from Red Suite 3.

Upgrading from LPCXpresso 3 to LPCXpresso 4

If you are currently using LPCXpresso 3, and wish to upgrade to LPCXpresso 4, then you simply need to download and run the installer, which can be found via Downloads and Versions.
