Multi User Installation

Typically, Red Suite is used in single user environments, where the user also has Administrator privileges. However, Red Suite can also be used in Multi User environments by making a some changes to file/directory permissions. The reason for these changes is that Windows will set the file ownership to the Administrator user, which will mean these files will not be accessible by non-Adminstrator users.

To use in a Multi User environment, follow the instructions below.

• Install and Activate Red Suite using an Administrator account
  • Ensure the "Install for All Users"option is checked
• For each of the following directories, change the Security Properties to allow "Full Control" for "Authenticated Users" (or the list of users you wish to use Red Suite)
  • the Installation directory

    • (e.g.) C:\code_red\RedSuite3_3.x

  • the License directory:
    • (Windows XP) C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\red_suite
    • (Windows Vista/Windows 7) C:\Users\Public\red_suite
