Where is my license (CDM file) stored
The License is stored in a binary file, known as a CDM file. This is because the file has a ".cdm" extension.
The location of the directory containing this file depends on the host operating system.
Root directory
The root directory is as follows:
- Windows XP
On Windows XP, the location of the directory is %ALLUSERSPROFILE%, where %ALLUSERSPROFILE% is an environment variable whose value is typically "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users"`
- Windows Vista and Windows 7
On Windows Vista and Windows 7 the location of the directory is %PUBLIC%, where %PUBLIC% is an environment variable whose value is typically "C:\Users\Public".
- On Linux, this directory is /usr/share
- On Mac OSX, this directory is /Users/Shared
License directory
The license is stored in a subdirectoy of the root directory, depending on the product:
- LPCXpresso: LPCXpresso
- Red Suite 3.x: red_suite
Red Suite 4.x: RedSuite
Notes
- The license directory directory must be writable by the user running Red Suite / LPCXpresso IDE.
