How can I evaluate Red Suite?
A 60 day evaluation license is available for Red Suite 4, to allow you to evaluate the product before purchasing.
To carry out an evaluation:
Download the full version of Red Suite 4 from the Downloads and Versions page.
Install Red Suite 4 and use the Help -> Product Activation -> Request Evaluation License... menu.
Restrictions
When activated with an evaluation license, Red Suite 4 provides the identical functionality as when used with a purchased license except for the following:
- Only one use of Red Trace is possible per debug session.
In particular note that when used with an evaluation license, Red Suite does not have any code size limitations.
Evaluating Red Suite NXP Edition
Red Suite NXP Edition does not provide an evaluation option. However the full version of Red Suite 4 provides a superset of the functionality of Red Suite 4 NXP edition - the main difference being that Red Suite 4 NXP edition has a code size limitation (of either 256KB or 512KB). Both products support exactly the same set of NXP MCU's, though the full version also supports MCUs from other vendors too (TI/Luminary, Silicon Labs and STMicroelectronics).
Thus if you are considering purchasing Red Suite NXP Edition, you should simply evaluate using the full version.

Moving from evaluation to a purchased license
After completing your evaluation and purchasing your Red Suite license, if you purchased the full version of Red Suite, then there is no need to reinstall the tools. Simply use Help -> Product Activation... menu to install your new activation code.
If you purchased Red Suite NXP Edition (either then 256KB or 512KB version), then you will need to download the Red Suite 4 NXP Edition installer from the Downloads and Versions page. After installing, start Red Suite 4 NXP Edition and use the Help -> Product Activation... menu to install your activate code.
